Someone here is very confused...

Asked any Christian and he will tell you that language and culture started when God punished those in charge with the Tower of Babel and to prevent them for building the tower, God stirred them by making them speak different languages.

As the Bible has said,
6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. - Genesis 11:6-9 King James Version (KJV)

Now here’s the problem. In the chapter before the Tower of Babel narrative, God have already given people different languages.

Genesis 10 King James Version (KJV)
10 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.
2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
7 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.
8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,
12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.
13 And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,
14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.
15 And Canaan begat Sidon his first born, and Heth,
16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,
17 And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
18 And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.
19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.
20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.
21 Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.
22 The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
23 And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24 And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.
25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
26 And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
27 And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
28 And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
29 And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.
30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.
31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.
32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

So, what happened?

When will they ever achieve peace?

After joining a Facebook Christian group in Facebook, all I saw was nothing but endless bickering and mud-throwing, so I decided to leave...

Sad, their own actions tells a lot what is in-store when you join their flock.

Puny God

According from a certain Christian post, God (through the intervention of prayers) healed his friend's gonorrhea (tulo). Through faith, God will heal. He also suggest that his god allow these misfortune to discipline you from your sins.

Uh... I just really hope that such "testimony" is true, but sadly It's not.

I have been staying at a hospital for 4 days and every time I go home, I see the dead just below the stairs. Their loved ones were crying. Now, reading the Christian's post I ask myself, does their family have very small faith that God allowed them to die? Are they being disciplined - who? the one who died or the love ones?
Through prayers, God heals the Christian's friend of gonorrhea, but have we all been praying to the same god to heal those starving children in Africa? Is the Christian's god trying to discipline those starving children in Africa? Is his god so impotent that he can only heal one person suffering from a curable disease? Yes - gonorrhea is quite curable.
These kind of Christian testimonies are good reasons why we should not believe in god.

Making An Appeal

Pastor Peter Tan-Chi was making an appeal in this video. Well, since a certain Leonel Luckhoo (Guinness Book of World Record's most successful lawyer) believed in Jesus - you should also believe.

The CCF's post is a little bit tricky. Leonel Lockhoo didn't tried to disprove Christianity (Lying for Jesus again? Shame on you CCF). He was a nominal Christian. In the book Confidant Faith by Mark Mittelberg and Lee Strobel, there was nothing written saying Luckhoo tried to disprove Christianity (See: page 215). There were no books written by Lockhoo prior to his conversion to Evangelical Christianity that support the CCF's claim. Also, his conclusion is based on personal opinion rather than scholarship. In all the apologetic books where the article about Lockhoo was written, information about this so-called "disproving the resurrection" is quite muddy.

Why Would I Believe Him?

Common sense dictates that I don't know the guy before he became a Christian evangelist, so why would I believe his claim for being an atheist?

Lying For Jesus

Why do Christians need to lie in order to glorify their god?

I Do Not Know, therefore God (Part 2)

There is this old Chinese proverb that says there are no bad students, just bad teachers – oh no, I’m not saying that John Garcia here is bad. Maybe his methods are just a little rusty, less effort, bad technique, but whatever are the reasons, his plans of “educating” us atheist is not really working.

Now in his last posts, I can now sense the frustration. He now starts spewing vile liquid in his mouth and started to use the word “idiom” as part of his so called “enlightenment speech.” Too bad that within the span of 2 posts, John Garcia is now swimming in the foul gutters – ang bilis naman?

Ok, without further adieu, let me take a look at his new claims [Oh, oh… no more beginning of everything?]

//John Garcia : Again why is the brain on the head? The foot on the lower part? There are billions of people but why do they have the same design? Why? Why is the world round? Can't it be a square? What is life? How is life? What started life? and Gazillions of more.//

The Question of Why, How and What?

One thing that people like John Garcia think is that every questions are asking for an answer. Why is the word round? What is life? Why is blue? What 2+2=4? Why is a globbylook can’t be quariple? You see, as Rev. Thomas Fuller has said, “Tis not every question that deserves an answer.”

Oh no, I’m not saying that you shouldn't question everything, but the problem with these kind of questions if they're already loaded with preconceived answers and it is obvious that John Garcia here have already presupposed his answer to all his questions as “god.” That’s not how skepticism work.

So why is the brain in the head? Why? Will it make a difference if the belly is located in the chest or in the belly? The foot on the lower part? – Again, will it make any difference if its located on the side of our body? Why is the world round? Can't it be a square? – why not? A square planet doesn't really makes a difference from a triangular one, does it?

What is life? How is life? What started life?  - Why call it life anyway?

See? Questions can only produce new questions.

// John Garcia: Why am I even educating Atheists whom I'm 99% sure won't pay it forward for the enlightenment I have given them. Its obvious all people who replied even on the previous topic didn't even understand my answers. No matter what research or study humans make they will still come up with an answer, and that is God. "The word God is not a name nor a person, it is a title" - John Garcia. If you want to live in lies that there is no God for your whole life, then its up to you. I pity you. Do me a favor and help yourself, only by that you can allow others to help you. You'll thank me later in your life. Too bad it would end up as a wasted thanks.//

Pinoy Atheist: Enlightenment is a big word, but let me just play with this for a while. A flashlight with a dead battery will not give any light, same with people claiming of giving enlightenment. A person who never achieved enlightenment can never teach enlightenment. It is as simple as that.

God is not an answer. It’s never been an answer. It is a name, a title as John Garcia would say that lazy people use to find a quick relief on things that bothers their head. There are no shortcuts to enlightenment and it seems John here  like an easy ticket – that ticket is called “god.”

So again, as I have already stated the obvious “There are no bad students, just bad teachers” and John Garcia seems to be teaching  enlightenment in a very wrong way.

Thanks for nothing. :)

Limits

Ludwig Wittgenstein by David Levine]
"The limits of your language are the limits of your world." Yes, it was quoted by the Austrian philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein. Now this quote makes me think about some claims that Islam have regarding the Qur'an, Allah and the Arabic language.

According to those Balik-Islam in Rizal Park, we cannot use other language than Arabic if we want to discuss Islam and the Qur’an. Muslim also prays in Arabic and not in their native tongue. So that means a Filipino Muslim will pray using Classical Arabic and not their native language when they pray or teach what is in the Qur'an. Well, they say it's something about their brotherhood. However, as Wittgenstein said about the limit of language, it seems this is the limits of Allah.

I don't know, therefore God exists

Amateur apologists come in different shape and size. Some methods are quite amazing, and some are just outright gibberish. Now here’s a good example – a certain “John Garcia” entered the Pinoy Atheist Tambayan in Facebook to proclaim the existence of his god, and he did this by stating the obvious – YOU DON’T KNOW, THEREFORE GOD.

So again, let me answer this typical rant, just to prove a point that whatever kind of “apologetic” they give, it always end up blant.

A new generation of... whatever.

Gosh, instead of teaching your kids how to whip themselves because of your deluded religious belief, send them to schools where they can learn how to read, write and do mathematics.

Steal the Donkey and the Colt.

"Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me." - Matthew 21:2

In other words, "steal the donkey and the colt."

He's Not For Peace

Jesus, the Son of God who bring peace and love... really huh?

Let his own words be a reflection.

"But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one." - Luke 22:36

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." - Matthew 10:34

"But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me." - Luke 19:27

And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables - John 2:15

So it's not really that strange why Christians act like assholes.
