Ok… whew, that was fast. 4 days of vacation because the Pope went to town and everyone in Facebook suddenly became infected by the Pope Bug. Now, as the 4 days go by, people seem to have a renewal of faith (Really huh?) and for the finale – 6 million people went to Rizal Park to hear the Pope.
The results: Other than the mountain of trash that was left by the pious Roman Catholics – there’s really not much to tell or to see. The circus is over folks, the curtains fall. Welcome back to the real world.
The visit was supposed to bring hope. Yeah, that is what all this fiasco is all about. Hope to the poor, hope to the invalid, the old folks, the disabled, the miserable and the oppressed. Pope Francis even visited Tacloban – the place that was devastated by Typhoon Haiyan last year.
So people smile, rejoiced – all that kind of jazz since a Catholic Pope visited our miserable country – the Aquino government spends an unspecified amount of money for this charade. Oh, and let us not forget how some street children were locked up like dogs – just to make Rizal Park and the surrounding area look better.

He went to Tacloban to comfort the victims of last years typhoon but before that, little girl asked him, "“Many children get involved in drugs and prostitution. Why does God allow these things to happen to us? The children are not guilty of anything.”
There was no answer.

Now, why would I believe the Pope’s good intentions?
He doesn’t like poverty, yet he don’t support contraception – he doesn't support reproductive health. Did he not notice the influx of street children – oh yes, he even kissed them. Anyway, if he only tell those mothers who act like factories to plan their family – he may have less street children to kiss. As Bridgette Dunlap of RH Reality Check found out, He is a hardliner on contraception," he "recently opposed the Violence Against Women Act" and he "believes the law should force a rape survivor to carry a pregnancy to term against her will.
How about the case of Father Julio Cesar Grassi, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of molesting a boy in his care? Is this Pope Francis's apparent failure to protect children from predator priests during his tenure as archbishop in Argentina? Then why bother to believe his "good intentions" if he still cover-up abusive priests and child-abuse cases?
When he was still Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the Archbishop of Buenos Aires and Primate of Argentina, he said that giving same-sex couples the opportunity to marry and adopt children should be approved, it will “seriously damage the family.” As Esteban Paulon, president of the Argentine Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transsexuals said, "He was the visible face of the Catholic Church's opposition to equal marriage and he approached it from a fundamentalist position, posturing that he had to wage a war of God against what he considered a plan of the devil."

Big words are very different from real actions.
And the scary part of all this charade?
The Filipinos are still clinging to a hope that something supernatural will solve the Nation's problems.
Folks, faith can move mountains, but it won't fix a leaky faucet.
