Authority?

Alam mo po Mr. Cruzado, the bible like any other religious book has no authority over those that don't believe its contents. Parang ganito...

Whatever is written in the Bhagavad Gita, stays in the Bhagavad Gita. Maaaring makapulot ako ng mga good moral lessons that I can use on my everyday life pero hindi ako affected ng stories na nakasaad sa mga pages ng Gita, unless ofcoure I have a very keen interest with the lives of those people in the time the Gita was being written.

The same with your bible po. There are good stories, irrational narratives, and ancient superstitions found in the pages of the bible. Maybe if I have an interest in the study of ancient Semitic culture, but mas interested ako sa ancient Egyptians than ancient Hebrews po eh.  But just like any other old book, I criticize the folly, inconsistencies, and errors of the bible. If this book is "inspired" by a god as the writers of Timothy imagined, obviously they were worshiping an ignorant god.  Sabi ko nga, it's a hobby.

By the way, I was born in the 20th Century po so I am more into the democratic system of government po, not on some ancient "Might Is Right" tribal form of leadership so I'm not really into this uh, "Lord is commanding me." bullshit. Hindi po ako nakatira sa serf and I don't have any so-called "Lord" commanding me what to do.

Masyadong Assuming

 Hayz! Masyadong assuming si Paul.

Personally, I was not affected by the words of a certain Joyce Pring. (Sino po ba yun?) Another idiot on the Internet is not much of a surprise.

What surprises me is the intolerance Christians like you and Ms. Pring are capable of spewing out of your mouth. It's so easy for people like you and Pring to condemn people who don't believe your belief.

Oh my, how cringy.

Is the Gospel offensive to me? Not at all. Just like other common ancient books, if I don't like what I read I can always put it down and look for better literature. Hayz, but I guess persecution complex is a common trait of Christians like you. You always thought people give too much fuck and persecute you because of your religious belief.

Hohum.

Get Out Of Jail Card

Do you know that serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer (who killed seventeen men and boys) is now in heaven for accepting Jesus as his Lord and Saviour before being beaten to death on November 28, 1994 by Christopher Scarver, a fellow inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin.

While Carl Sagan (an American astronomer, planetary scientist, cosmologist, astrophysicist, astrobiologist, author, and science communicator.) is now burning in hell fire for being an agnostic. He didn't accept Jesus as Lord and Savior when he died on December 20, 1996 due to pneumonia.

Note: According to their doctrine, when a sinner accepted Jesus before dying, he automatically gets a "Get out of Jail" card. Sorry for the pun, but seriously it's just accepting Jesus, and all your sins are washed away. Anyone who didn't believe in Jesus is damn in hell. (See: John 14:6 ) except for those characters in the Old Testament. As Christian philosopher Raymond D. Bradley in a debate with fellow Christian philosopher William Lane Craig said, "Neither good works nor generous donations will get you there. The legions of the damned, according to Jesus, include all those who don't have the right belief, the belief that he, Jesus, is Lord and Savior. In short, those who will be sent to hell include all those who, as the evangelicals put it, have not been born again. "

So looking at this doctrine we can say that even serial killers get to heaven as long as they accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior before they die. In the case of Dahmer - Dahmer becomes a born-again Christian in prison, eight months before he was murdered by fellow prisoner Christopher Scarver.

Lucifer

Christian Claim: God is perfect and all his works are perfect. God is all-knowing and all-powerful. God created innocent Lucifer.

Me: Then how did Lucifer and some angels become evil and transform into Satan and his demons?

Apologetic answer: Lucifer has free will.

Me: Still didn't answer the question.

Even if Lucifer has free will if evil didn't exist before Satan he will not be corrupted. So, does that mean evil already existed before Satan? And how come some angels other than Lucifer were also corrupted to become demons? How corruption entered heaven which is the abode of a perfect god? Doesn't make any sense.

Apologetic answer: Lucifer was corrupted by his own pride.

Me: Which again brings us back to my first question: How can Lucifer be corrupted by pride if evil doesn't exist before Satan? Where does this evil thought of pride come from? And why is it that some angels became demons? Why did rebellion enter their mind while living in perfect heaven ruled by a perfect, Omni-being called god?

Fall of Man?

Adam and the woman were thrown out of the Garden in Eden because they disobeyed God and ate the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge because the snake (which was Satan) tempted the woman.

Questions:

1. How the hell was Satan able to enter the garden in the first place? If this god can order an angel to guard the entrance of the garden with a flaming sword, why did he didn't employ this before Satan entered his playground? Does that mean Satan just outwitted god?

2. If god is all-knowing, he already knows that  Satan is inside the garden. So why did he not able to remove him? Being all-knowing, he already knows what will happen.

3. Being all-knowing, god already knows that Adam and his mate will be tempted by Satan to eat the fruit of Knowledge. Being omnipotent, what did god do to prevent this from happening? He already knows what will happen, right? Can't this all-powerful god make an unpenetrable fence around the tree or even a simple picket fence?

Typical Christian response: God is testing Adam.

Me: Test? Wait? If god already knows the outcome why does the need to test the subject? Would it be better that he made some kind of prevention since he already knows the outcome?   If god already knows the outcome yet didn't even make any attempt to prevent it from happening even if he has the capacity to do so then that makes god more responsible for letting the world become corrupted since Adam and the woman are innocent.

It's god fault!

Samson

Do you really believe this is a historical fact?

While some liberal Christians will accept that the story of Samson was just a legend, most Christian fanatics will say that Samson was historical.

The book of Judges (Judges 13:5) describes him as an Israelite warrior and judge, a member of the tribe of Dan, and a Nazirite. His immense physical strength, which he used for 20 years against the Philistines, derived from his uncut hair."  According to Got Question (A Christian evangelical website), "It seems as though Samson’s hair was his human source of power..."

Hair is made up of keratin. There is no way that human strength can come from keratin. According to Hair and Scalp Disorders (Edited by Zekayi Kutlubay and Server Serdaroglu), In humans, hair has various functions such as protection against external factors, sebum, apocrine sweat and pheromones production, and thermoregulation.

So, when does hair become a source of super-human strength?

Honestly speaking, this Samson story is more like a kwentong balbero than actual history. No puns intended.

Advocate Atheism?

Alam nyo guys, hindi ko na sana sasagutin ito but biglang may ah... guy here who wanted to evaluate my mindset. Hahaha! Hay nako  magulo mindset ko. You need to be a real psychologist with a lot of masters to start probing it. Hahaha!
Anyways,  papaano ko ba sisimulan ito?

There was a certain post in a certain Filipino Facebook atheist group regarding advocating atheism.

It’s a noble cause, but sabi nga, “Papunta pa lang kayo, pabalik na ako.”

Ganyan din ako noong 2011, the year I created PATAS. Advocating atheism. Sabi nga sa WIKIPEDIA

To promote public understanding of atheism and agnosticism;
To eliminate myths and misconceptions about atheism and agnosticism;
To promote social responsibility by replacing superstitious imperatives with rational secular solutions, grounded in lack of supernatural beliefs.

Kasi noon may Filipino Freethinkers na eh. Ayoko namang gayahin ang advocacy nila.

Maraming nasimulan ang PATAS. In fact, we were the first atheist group na lumantad sa public. We made an OUT Campain in Luneta Park for 3 days.  We also held the first atheist convention in South-East Asia. Sa madaling salita, hindi kami puro talks. We walk.

If you really want to start advocating atheism, leave your safe place. Leave the closet and expose yourselves.

That’s not atheism. That’s a joke.

Oh, and by the way. Napansin ko lang how vague ang ideas ng iba about atheism. Atheism ba o Atheism ++? Atheism is just about not believing in a god or gods. PERIOD! Now, look at this guy who wanted to examine my mindset. Sabi nya,

“...Specially in this age of information, most of the people worldwide are being misleaded from the Truth/Facts or doesnt have proper education, and Religious Brainwashing through Indoctrination at a very young age is still Rampant.”
Atheism agad? Hindi ba pwedeng secularism or critical thinking?

If I don’t believe in a god or gods pero wa akong paki sa mga religious organizations, I’m still an atheist whether this guy likes it or not. If I believe in a higher being pero I hate organized religion, hindi ako atheist. Masyado nyong nilalagyan ng added burden ang atheism eh.

If advocacy talaga ang gusto nyo...

  •  How can you advocate atheism in a country whose 3.9 million of population is living in poverty? Langya! Naniwala nga sa Tallano golds eh, sa Diyos pa?  So bago po umusok ang ilong nyo at magplanong sunugin ang mga simbahan at kapilya sa buong Pilipinas, dig the cause. Remember that hopeless people cling in hope and religion offers hope. I don’t care if it’s false hope, basta hope (kahit sigarilyo pa yan!) Now, asked yourselves – anong hope ang ipapalit nyo if you got rid of religion. Oh and please, stop comparing secular countries like Sweden, Finland and Norway sa Pilipinas. Mura po ang gatas sa kanila.

  •  Consider education.  Sabi 97% daw ang literate. But, hindi lahat ng literate ay critical thinking. Naku, lalo na sa mga youth. Millennials (those born from 1981 to 1996 or aged 21 to 28) today get more information on social media like Tik-Tok. Sadly, there is a study that Filipinos are not into books. Consider also the fact that Filipinos like things that will make them “feel good.” Dyan pa lang bias na.

Now, siryoso ka ba? Remember how Atheist Joy discontinued his atheist advocacy kasi it endangered his family? Also, try to contemplate more... Una, baka ningas kugon lang. Pangalawa, baka galit ka lang sa diyos kasi iniwan ka ng girlfriend mo?

Prepared ka ba? May ideas ka ba sa mga religions? May ideas ka ba sa science and philosophy. Baka naman mamaya debatihin ka and the only thing na masasabi mo eh “Tanginang diyos mo!”

And lastly, I will give more emphasis on the “Mad on God” type of advocacy. If you guys will start shooting their fortress, lalo silang magsasara ng gates. No dialogues will happen – Lalo silang magiging stubborn. Try to relax. Konting chill.

Napahaba na tuloy ito.

So goodluck on your advocacy. Hope na matuloy kayo.

Freethought is for everyone.

Typical sales pitch.

While helping a friend with a feeding event, a Born-Again Christian pastor approached me and asked me a question.

"What if you got into an accident today and died while you still haven't accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior?"

"Oh boy... Here we go again."  I said to myself.

The pastor thought I'm a Catholic and wanted me to join his flock.
Well... I asked the pastor.

"What if you got into an accident today and died and when you went to heaven, you learned that Allah is the one true God and Mohammad is his only prophet?" And because you're worshipping the wrong God you're likely to go to hell?"

The pastor left.

Baldy and the Bears

There are many disgusting stories in the bible. Totally disgusting! Other than that hot-headed Messiah and the Fig Tree, there’s one story you can find in the Old Testament. If you guys are not familiar with it...ah, just keep reading.

The story can be found in 2 Kings 2:23-24.

“From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!” they said. “Get out of here, baldy!”  He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.”

So, he doesn’t want to be called “baldy” but that’s OVERKILL!  42 children were killed gruesomely by bears because they called him baldy?

Grabe namang mapikon.

And, get this. He called The Lord to... wait, curse? I thought you can’t use the Name of the Lord in vain? And why will a so-called “God is Good” Lord approved of this?

Christian apologists try to sanitize the story by saying they are not children, they are teenagers. Ah! So, when a group of teens calls me fatso, I could just mow down 42 of them using an M-16 automatic with the Lord’s blessing huh?

Another Christian apologist says that Elisha’s life was in danger. What? He’s in danger because kids called him baldy?  besides, nothing in those verses says that they’re going to kill him.

Anyways, whatever reason suggested there’s no good reason to massacre 42 kids just because you don’t like the way they tease you. Maybe instead of bears, he should ask his god with a pair of nice wig to cover his baldness.
